On the Road – Michigan to Illinois

Michigan_ObamaAfter dry camping in Donna's driveway for the month of November, we started on our trip to Florida. Our first stop was in Taylorville, Illinois, to visit family and friends. We spent three days dry camping in Vern and Carol Endsley's driveway. We left on Friday morning and drove to Goreville, Illinois (past Carbondale), and stopped at the rest area there. We met a couple that stopped to talk to us about our RV. They're wanting to buy the exact Bounder model. They recommended Ferne Clyffe State Park as a great place to overnight. It would mean a short driving day, but sounded ideal. We checked out the park, liked it, and decided to spend the night in our first campground. We also thought it was time for a dump station, which they had open. The only other amenities were 30 amp service, which suited us fine. We'll go back to the park in warmer weather. On the way out of the park on Saturday morning, we saw five deer in the woods.
