Sign_River RidgeWe arrived at River Ridge RV Resort on Sunday, May 23, 2010. It's a beautifully landscaped, well-maintained RV resort. With that said, the price is a little high for our budget ($42/night in the summer season for a concrete pad, plus $3.00 per day per pet). Also, we paid the premium in-season price, but the pool was not open. The resort staff spent the entire week readying the park for the long weekend. And, since it was nearly 90 degrees, it would have been nice to use the pool. The resort also has a very nice clubhouse at the pool, with a billiards table, fireplace, big screen TV, and a full kitchen. The resort is picture postcard perfect and worth the daily rate. I do, however, have a problem with the pet fee and all the other incidental fees charged. A lot of rules are attached to the stay. Clubhouse2

The manager is a former Fruitportian (class of 1970), Rick Stafford. He and all the staff were very nice. When we arrived on Sunday, there were a few families here that left Sunday night. Monday and Tuesday, we had the place to ourselves, as far as RVers go. Guests began to arrive Wednesday evening, with a few trickling in on Thursday. Rick Stafford said the park is completely booked for the Memorial weekend.

Along with RV sites, they rent travel trailers and park models for those not so fortunate to have an RV.

Camp StoreThe resort is located on the Muskegon River on the backwaters of Hardy Dam. There's a nice camp store and marina at the resort. Muskegon River

On Friday, May 28, we leave for Crystal Lake Campground near Scottville, Michigan, to meet Donna, Chris, Carl and Luke for the long weekend of camping and to kick off the Michigan summer season.
